End of Summer Fun

Summer seemed to fly by - school has started now and looking back, we were busy, but it wasn't anything tremendously big! We went to Lagoon a few times. This last time, I took the camera and we took some cute pictures. The kids loved riding the rides. The older kids loved the ride Wicked and convinced me to try it out. It took me a few hours to feel normal again - but now I can say, "I RODE WICKED!! Monica asked me when we were done if I was going to text all my friends and let them know I rode Wicked. I'm not sure, as an adult, many of my friends would care - but just in case - I want to let anyone who really wants to know - I rode Wicked and survived. Once was good enough!!

Here are a few pictures that we took! The kids are amusement park junkies - we could have stayed days . . .

Toilet Water

Cannon loves to splash in any water. When we bath him in the kitchen sink, we need an extra towel just to wipe up the counter and the floor. But, the latest discovery has been toilet water. When you find him in his latest play area and take him out - he gets so mad. It's such a cute mad too, he carries on for quite a while letting you know that he was having fun. We're trying to make sure that everyone puts the lid down (and flushes), but with four toilets and four potty-trained boys, there is always fun to be had!!

So, we gave him an approved water playground! We filled the bowl with water and let him at it! It was a great idea (thanks Grandma Cressall)!! He had a great time! Gunnar had quite a good time playing with him too! At least we know this is clean water!!

Picture and Video Link

Melissa had a video done for her wedding day - it was filmed throughout the day and then the company did a 'same day' edit and showed the video at the end of her reception. It was beautiful. I've attached a link as well as a link to the many, many pictures that I took. Although most of them aren't added yet - I'm adding them, who knew it took so long to add them . . .

Meeting Elvis and the Ocean

I was able to finally meet my new brother-in-law this last weekend. He is a marine stationed at Camp Pendleton. He is quiet, but very nice and a perfect fit for Baili! He even has a cool name which fits in with Baili's - since she was named after a singer, he apparently was too! Here is a cute picture that we took at SeaWorld. Elvis definately gets my seal of approval - which probably doesn't really matter, but still a definately thumbs up!!

We also went to Sea World while we were close to San Diego. Gunnar loves anything to do with the sea - especially Sting Ray. Unfortunately, Sea World was HOT and MISERABLE. The shows and exibits were great - but at 100 degrees and high humidity, it was not that great! Maybe we should have sat in the 'soak zone' for the dolphin show - but I hate having my clothes wet more than I hate being sweaty.

We were also able to go the ocean - which the boys loved. They loved jumping in the waves, and a few times, the waves knocked them down, but it didn't even phase them. The best was watching Cannon with the sand - he wasn't quite sure what to think, and of course, sand just gets everywhere. We went to Baili's house after the beach and after giving the boys baths - it was very apparent, sand gets EVERYWHERE!! It was a beautiful time to take pictures - the lighting was perfect!! (Of course, the subjects are pretty great too!).

Wedding Pics

The big event has come and gone - it was spectacular! Gunnar was the ring bearer and took his job very seriously! It was cute! Melissa had her makeup artist do our makeup and we even had a hairdresser do our hair! There was also a belly dancer at the reception, which Cannon and Jerrick loved watching. Jerrick didn't move for about 10 minutes!! True boy!

T-Ball Pictures

The boys had a great time playing t-ball this year. Ryker was always smiling - he loved everything about t-ball. He didn't even mind when he didn't get the ball. His coach walked on water - he wanted to make sure that he did everything that he was 'supposed' to do to be a better player. It was cute!

Birthday, fat lips and cake auctions . . .

All in one week at the Carter house. The fun just never ends . . .

Jerrick's 6th birthday! He was excited about his new Wii game - Super Smash Brothers Brawl. (Try saying that three times fast!) He had a great birthday with chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream. Grandma and Grandpa Cressall came out on Monday night and Grandma and Grandpa Carter came out on Tuesday night. He loved every minute of it. It's hard to believe that my premie baby has grown so fast. His birth is probably the one that I'll remember every single detail - and every birthday I am still amazed how things worked out (with a lot of help from above).

This is Jaxon's fancy injury that he received last night at his baseball game. Well, the injury happened before the game, while they were warming up. Jaxon was turned sideways talking to his coach when the pitcher threw the ball. That probably sounds more blatant on the pitchers part than it actually was. It bled, and bled and bled some more. Jared and I were over at Jerrick and Ryker's t-ball game, so we missed most the blood. The joke was when we got over to the little league field that the team was trying to beat Jaxon up. I told them that we have that covered at home - plenty of brothers! It's still quite swollen today and very sore - but luckily mouths heal fast (and mostly without stitches)!!!

Here is my grand cake for the Boy Scout cake auction tomorrow night. I found this awesome idea from familyfun.com! We had a great time making it - although now that it's made, everyone is trying to touch it. I'm planning on taking it to the church so little hands don't bother it tomorrow when I'm not around to patrol it's safety! I made buttercream frosting for the first time, and after putting all the ingredients together - I now know why cake is 12 weight watchers point for a 3x3 piece. WOW! Killer shortening content! But it sure tastes good! Hopefully it will bring in big cash for the scouts.
