Duh Moments . . .

I know we all have those moments when we think DUH! But I've been having more than the occassional one. I'm totally going to blame it on lack of sleep, too much to do, or any other excuse that I can come up with.

So the other day, in the midst of work (without my assistant manager - she had her baby), planning the 4th of July city celebration and trying to stay sane, I answered the phone from the city manager. Before he could say more than "hi" I told him I was fine. Total moron moment - you're suppose to wait until they ask you how you are! If that was all, I wouldn't have worried so much - but it only gets worse.

We just bought new phones. The old phones are not holding their charge, it's so frustrating to answer the phone, only to have it go dead - even if it was on the charger. So we bought new phones - plugged them in and strange, they wouldn't work. That was last night - I couldn't figure it out and decided to try again later. So, this morning, I started again. Jared told me phones can't be that complicated and it was probably something stupid. Okay, words well said. One phone (that we NEVER use) was off the hook. Hmmm, really duh moment!

So, I saved the best for last. Last night, the boys were outside in the yard playing in the water. I told them that they needed to come in and get some sunscreen on. I pulled it out of the cabinet and sprayed it on them. (Even sprayed the neighbor kids). The sunscreen seemed a little runny, but I didn't think anything of it. It's a new kind, that you spray on (referred to as the fancy kind!). So this morning, I found the pledge on the counter and thought, I've been looking for this. Dusted the whole livingroom and then realized, this was the sunscreen that I sprayed on the kids last night. Seriously!! I guess no one had an allergic reaction to being dusted . . . . although I do have to say - no one got sunburnt!! Who knew!

I hope tomorrow is a better day!

I just love your blogs. I'm sure no one can top your experiences. However I think a lot of us have had duh moments but we just don't want to admit to them.
